We put off redoing the kitchen for two years because we couldn't picture it. VZO measured everything, came back about a week later with a 3D layout, and it was exactly the thing we couldn't describe ourselves. Demo and install took two days and they hauled the old cabinets off with them.

Does raised panel look better painted or stained?
Stained usually shows it best, since the grain follows the profile and the contour reads clearly. Painted raised panel works too, but the detail sits quieter. Both come through the manufacturer lines we order from.
Are raised panel cabinets harder to keep clean?
The shaped edges hold more dust than a flat door does. A dry cloth run along the profile every few weeks handles it. Nothing unusual, just one more step than a slab front.
What is a raised panel cabinet door?
A five-piece door where the center panel is thicker than the frame and steps up from it, with a shaped profile worked around the edge. That contour catches light, which is what gives the door its traditional look.
